Aharon Kapitulnik is the Theodore Sydney Rosenberg Professor in the Department of Applied Physics at Stanford University. His research focuses on experimental condensed matter physics, applying methods in tabletop experimental studies of fundamental phenomena in physics. Recent studies cover a broad spectrum of phenomena associated with the behavior of correlated disordered electron systems, particularly in reduced dimensions, and the development of effective instrumentation to detect subtle signatures of physical phenomena. He has received numerous accolades, including the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship and the Presidential Young Investigator Award. Kapitulnik is also a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Tel Aviv University, where he also completed his B.Sc. Prior to his current position, he has held various roles including Chair of the Department of Applied Physics and Deputy Director of the Laboratory for Advanced Materials at Stanford University, and Visiting Professor at Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
