Biography

Ahmad Farouk joined the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences at Monash University in January 2007 after serving as a lecturer and surgeon at Universiti Sains Malaysia, where he specialized in Cardiothoracic Surgery. He worked in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Monash Medical Centre from 2007 to 2008. He has been actively involved in research and has presented papers at various conferences in Asia and Europe. Farouk has won numerous distinguished medals at both national and international levels. His research interests include minimally invasive surgery, atrial fibrillation, and post-coronary artery bypass grafting. He also engages in community work, delivering talks at educational centers in Malaysia and is a founding member of the Muslim Professionals Forum (MPF). Farouk has been significantly involved in teaching, covering subjects such as Anatomy, Histology, and General Surgery for medical students over the years.
