At the Department of Physics at the University of Montreal, I am an Associate Professor specializing in Plasma Physics with applications in the synthesis and functionalization of nanomaterials and liquid treatment. My research focuses on atmospheric pressure plasmas and plasma-matter interactions, particularly those involving liquids. My research activities can be categorized into three main areas: plasma in contact with liquid, plasma in liquid, and plasma in a two-phase medium (such as mixtures of immiscible liquids or air-liquid mixtures). In addition to the fundamental understanding of this new family of plasmas, I develop innovative applications that hold promise for original outcomes. Despite the wide range of applications, my current focus is on leveraging plasmas in liquid phases for the sterilization of water, the synthesis of nanomaterials, and the production of clean fuels. While the 'plasma-liquid' research field is relatively new, initial results have shown exciting physical characteristics to explore, with significant potential to address serious global issues.
