Biography

Ahmad Hammami joined Concordia University in 2014 as an Associate Professor in the Accountancy department. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University. Dr. Hammami's dissertation examined the impact of fair valuations on discounts in closed-end funds. His research interests encompass financial accounting reporting, fair value accounting, corporate governance, auditing, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting. His work has been published in various prestigious journals, including ABACUS, the Managerial Auditing Journal, and the International Journal of Managerial Finance. He has received research funding from the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). Dr. Hammami's research has also been presented at IASB Board Meetings and international conferences, showcasing his contributions to the field of accounting. Additionally, he has coordinated several courses in financial accounting at the John Molson School of Business.
