Biography

Ahmed Alboksmaty, MBBCh, MPH, is a medical doctor and public health professional, currently working as a Clinical Research Fellow while pursuing a PhD at the Institute of Global Health Innovation, Imperial College London. Rejoining Imperial in June 2024, he previously completed GP clinical training at Cambridge and held an Academic Clinical Fellowship at the Healthcare Improvement Studies Institute (THIS Institute), University of Cambridge. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Alboksmaty led research on patient safety and the utilization of health technologies in primary care. He has contributed as a consultant to the World Health Organization, focusing on quality, patient safety, and health system development. His early career included significant work to improve healthcare access for refugees and asylum seekers in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Additionally, he is a co-module lead for the “Health & Society” module in the MSc Health Policy at IGHI and has received multiple international awards for his public health initiatives aimed at promoting health equity in conflict-affected settings.
