Biography

Ahmed Aman joined the Drug Discovery Program at the Ontario Institute of Cancer Research in January 2009 as a Principal Research Scientist and Group Leader in Analytical Chemistry ADME. He received his PhD in physical organic chemistry from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Prior to joining OICR, he worked for ten years at Bellus Health (formerly Neurochem Inc.), where he led the analytical chemistry group as a Senior Group Leader. His research interests focus on small molecule drug discovery in oncology. Dr. Aman has extensive experience in absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and pharmacokinetics (ADME/PK) studies of small molecules, including in vivo and in vitro metabolism studies and the identification of metabolites. He is proficient in the development and implementation of quantitative and qualitative LC/MS methods to support drug discovery and preclinical development programs. Furthermore, he has managed projects as part of multidisciplinary project management teams.
