Ahmed El-Angbawi earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Alexandria University in Egypt. He is a qualified orthodontist with extensive training from the University of Glasgow, where he worked as a clinical lecturer. In 2013, he was awarded a PhD based on a multi-centre randomized clinical trial comparing the effectiveness of orthodontic treatments using 0.018 and 0.022-inch bracket slot systems. His research interests include randomized clinical trials, effective orthodontic treatment, orthodontically induced inflammatory root resorption, accelerating orthodontic tooth movement, cleft lip and palate, and systematic reviews.
