Biography

Ahmed El-Angbawi earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Alexandria University in Egypt. He is a qualified orthodontist with extensive training from the University of Glasgow, where he worked as a clinical lecturer. In 2013, he was awarded a PhD based on a multi-centre randomized clinical trial comparing the effectiveness of orthodontic treatments using 0.018 and 0.022-inch bracket slot systems. After moving to London, he spent three years managing complex orthodontic cases at the Royal London Hospital, qualifying as a consultant orthodontist. Currently, he is a senior lecturer and consultant at the University of Manchester, where he treats complex cases and trains postgraduate students. His research interests include randomized clinical trials, effective orthodontic treatment, orthodontically induced inflammatory root resorption, accelerating orthodontic tooth movement, cleft lip and palate, and systematic reviews.
