Ahmed Hussain is an Assistant Professor in the College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. He is also a member of the Biomedical Engineering faculty and the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Dr. Hussain received his Bachelor Degree in Dental Science and a Master’s Degree in Prosthodontics, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and a Doctor of Medical Science degree (PhD) from Kyoto University, Japan. His PhD research focused on developing novel scaffolds for bone and cartilage regeneration. Dr. Hussain's research interests include biomaterials, tissue engineering/regenerative medicine, micro/nanoparticles, and growth factors for slow release systems associated with mesenchymal stem cells. He is actively involved in research supported by the College of Dentistry and the University of Saskatchewan.
