Professor Dr. Aida Andersen

Biography

Aida Hougaard Andersen is an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Denmark in the Department of Psychology. She holds an MSc in Psychology and a PhD, which she completed between June 1, 2017, and August 21, 2020. Her research interests primarily focus on Community Psychology, Existential Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, and the psychological impact of religion. Anderson is a licensed psychologist with extensive clinical practice experience and has engaged in meaningful conversations around existential issues, especially in the context of chronic illness. Her academic contributions include participation in numerous conferences and workshops, leading the Research and Education Clinic at the Institute of Psychology since January 1, 2022. She has also coordinated various projects aimed at exploring existential communications in therapeutic settings and the integration of psychological themes with religious contexts. Aida actively promotes educational development in her field and leads efforts to enhance understanding of psychological practices involving life and death issues within Danish society and the healthcare system.
