Aidan McGlynn is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Philosophy, Psychology, and Language Sciences at the University of Edinburgh, where he has been a faculty member since September 2012. He was appointed as a Chancellor's Fellow and senior lecturer in August 2018. Aidan received his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, supervised by Mark Sainsbury, and holds an undergraduate master's degree from the University of St Andrews. His teaching and research primarily focus on epistemology, especially in the areas where it intersects with the philosophies of language, mind, and social and feminist philosophy. McGlynn has taught a variety of courses, including 'Knowledge, Ignorance, Power' and 'Objectification, Dehumanisation, Othering', and has supervised numerous undergraduate and graduate dissertations. His current research interests include skepticism, immunity to error, self-knowledge, standpoint epistemology, and epistemic injustice. He is actively writing a book on epistemic injustice and co-editing the Oxford Handbook of Social Epistemology. Additionally, Aidan is the co-editor of the journal 'Hypatia'.
