Biography

I am currently working as a Senior Data Engineer at the Physical Sciences Data Infrastructure (PSDI), leading the development of metadata practices. My role involves designing metadata schemas, developing tools and workflows to support metadata input, updating, and validation, as well as integrating PSDI services. I also provide support and guidance to PSDI contributors. Throughout my career, I have integrated my knowledge of physical sciences with computing, particularly in areas like computer modeling, programming, and databases. I initially studied Materials Science at Cambridge University and completed my PhD in Chemistry at University College London, focusing on computer modeling of zeolites. Prior to my current role, I worked as a Materials Information Consultant at Granta Design, where I developed databases for materials properties and trained customers on how to integrate workflows. Additionally, I have contributed to the Royal Society of Chemistry, developing RSC resources such as RSC Publications and ChemSpider, and have been involved in educational projects like the RSC Learn Chemistry Wiki, linking resources externally to RSC.
