Biography

Professor Aimin Song received his PhD from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1995. He has held fellowships at the University of Glasgow and the University of Munich, sponsored by the Royal Society and the von Humboldt Foundation. After working as a Guest Lecturer at Lund University, he moved to the University of Manchester where he became a Lecturer in 2002 and was promoted to Professor of Nanoelectronics in 2006. His research focuses on novel nanoelectronic devices, particularly printable thin-film electronics, resulting in his involvement in several EU Framework Projects and publications in high-impact journals including Nature Communications and Physical Review Letters. He has received numerous accolades such as the 'Researcher of the Year' and the Distinguished Achievement Medal from the University of Manchester. Professor Song’s work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in areas of electrical and electronic engineering.
