Biography

Aine Bennett is a Teaching Fellow specializing in Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick. She completed her PhD in Politics and International Relations at Royal Holloway, University of London, as well as an MA in International Security from the University of Warwick in 2020, and an MA (Hons) in French and International Relations from the University of St Andrews. Her PhD research focused on bisexual individuals seeking asylum in the UK and France, exploring the intersections of sexuality, gender, and security. Aine has previously worked on the experiences of LGBTQ+ people in Northern Ireland during the Troubles and is broadly interested in queer feminist international relations and critical migration studies. She has contributed to projects like the Border Narratives project at Warwick and has taught various political modules. In 2024, Aine co-led a project to support frontline migration services, addressing gender and sexuality issues. She is an active member of the International Political Sociology PhD seminar series and has published work exploring queer identities in conflict situations.
