Biography

Aishatu Aloma, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor at Boston University's Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. She completed her medical training at the University of Maiduguri College of Medical Sciences in Nigeria and earned her Master of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health in 2012. Prior to her current role, Dr. Aloma held clinical research positions at Tufts Medical Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She also served as a Clinical Associate at Tufts University School of Medicine and completed a fellowship in breast and gynecologic surgical pathology at UMass Memorial Medical Center. A recipient of several awards, she has been recognized for her academic achievements and contributions to the medical field, including a scholarship from the Federal Government of Nigeria and merit awards from Shell Petroleum Development Company and Exxon Mobil. Dr. Aloma's research interests include the impact of Imatinib Mesylate on gastrointestinal stromal tumors and the Hepatitis B virus activation.
