Biography

ABD, Aja is currently working on a dissertation that expands the monograph Firelei Báez, interpreted through the lens of “survivance.” They were a Mellon Fellow in Contemporary Art at the Blanton Museum of Art during 2021–2022 and served as a guest editor for the Mid-American Print Council Journal. Before relocating to pursue doctoral work, Aja served as an Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Montana Western for three years. In Austin, Aja found a home with their wife in Kansas City.
