Biography

Akingabe Guyon obtained an MSc in Communicable Disease Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 1999. He embarked on medical studies and earned an MDCM degree from McGill University. He completed family medicine training at the University of British Columbia and specialized in Community Medicine at McGill University. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Guyon has accumulated extensive public health work and training experience across various regional and provincial public health institutions in Quebec, as well as in rural and urban British Columbia, East Africa, England, and Denmark. He has worked as a Public Health Preventive Medicine Specialist in rural Quebec (Bas-Saint-Laurent) and currently works at the Montreal Public Health Unit. Additionally, he serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the École de Santé Publique de l'Université de Montréal. His main interests include healthy public policy and general public health practice, with areas of expertise in public health systems and preventive medicine.
