Professor Dr. Akira Nishisaki

Biography

Dr. Akira Nishisaki is an attending physician at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, specializing in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. He holds a medical degree from Nagoya University School of Medicine in Japan. Dr. Nishisaki has an extensive background in simulation-based education research and pediatric airway management, along with prominent skills in bedside ultrasound techniques. His fellowship training was completed in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Children's Hospital Philadelphia. As a professor in Clinical Anesthesiology and Critical Care Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Nishisaki addresses critical issues in pediatric care, advocating for enhanced educational frameworks in medical training. He actively participates in refining emergency transport programs and aims to improve pediatric healthcare outcomes through research and clinical excellence.
