Biography

Professor Akshat Tanksale completed his PhD at the University of Queensland in 2008, focusing on nanomaterials and chemical reaction engineering. After his postdoctoral studies at the same institution, where he examined the conversion of biomass into liquid fuels and hydrogen storage, he joined Monash University in 2011. There, he leads the Catalysis Green Chemicals group, which specializes in heterogeneous catalysis, particularly in the conversion of carbon dioxide and biomass into fuels and chemicals. As the Deputy Director of the ARC Research Hub for Carbon Utilisation and Recycling and the Carbon Theme Leader for the Woodside Monash Energy Partnership, he is dedicated to innovating new processes and designing novel heterogeneous catalysts to develop technologies facilitating low-negative carbon emissions. His research is multi-disciplinary, involving breakthrough advances in nanomaterials and applied chemistry, aimed at addressing the pressing issues of renewable energy and climate change. Akshat is a recognized leader in his field, contributing to numerous projects aimed at achieving sustainable energy solutions and reducing carbon footprints.
