His research focuses on the foundational aspects of cryptography, with particular interests in Secure Multiparty Computation (MPC), Zero-Knowledge Proofs, and Post-Quantum Cryptography. He explores protocols that enable multiple parties to jointly compute functions while preserving the privacy of their inputs, investigates methods for parties to prove the truth of statements without revealing the information beyond the statement itself, and develops cryptographic systems that are resistant to attacks from quantum computers. Akshayaram completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was advised by Professor Sanjam Garg, and his undergraduate studies in Computer Science Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He is passionate about teaching fundamental concepts in computer science and cryptography and has taught several courses at the University of Toronto and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), including Data Structures and Fundamentals of Cryptography. He actively engages with students and is interested in mentoring motivated individuals in the areas of cryptography and theoretical computer science.
