Biography

Dr. Aladdin Mohammad is an Associate Professor and Senior Consultant Epidemiologist in the Department of Rheumatology at Skåne University Hospital in Lund, Sweden. His research primarily focuses on clinical and epidemiological outcome studies related to systemic vasculitis. He has conducted extensive studies on primary systemic vasculitis in Southern Sweden, with a particular emphasis on ANCA-associated vasculitis, polyarteritis nodosa, Behçet’s Disease, Giant Cell Arteritis, and Takayasu’s Arteritis. Dr. Mohammad joined a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Vasculitis Lupus Clinic in June 2013 under the supervision of Dr. David Jayne. His current research at the University of Cambridge investigates the immunogenicity and safety of influenza and pneumococcal vaccinations in patients with ANCA-associated vasculitis, exploring outcomes related to biological treatments. Additionally, he serves as an Associate Editor for the Scandinavian Journal of Rheumatology. His work addresses important public health issues concerning the predictors and frequencies of common comorbidities in ANCA vasculitis, including cardiovascular diseases and cancer epidemiology.
