Biography

Alain Gignac has been a full professor at the Université de Montréal since 1999. He specializes in the Christian New Testament, particularly Pauline literature and other letters of the New Testament. His research interests include theories of interpretation throughout the centuries. He directs the Terra Nova collection published by the Belgian publisher Peeters. In 2001, he contributed to a modern translation of the Bible, translating the Letter to the Romans and the Letter to the Galatians in collaboration with writer Marie Depussé. He published a commentary on the Letter to the Romans with Cerf (Paris) in 2014.
