Biography

Alain Roussy is a professor in the French Common Law Program at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law. He has held various leadership roles within the Faculty, including Vice-Dean of the French Common Law Program and interim Dean. Roussy has experience as the director of pratiquO, a French-language professional development center. Educated at the University of Ottawa, he began his career clerking at the Supreme Court and later practiced business law in major law firms. He joined the University of Ottawa as a professor in 2013 after completing his LL.M. in 2012. His research focuses primarily on professional responsibility and legal ethics. Roussy has received several fellowships and awards, including recognition for excellence in teaching and contributions to legal ethics in Ontario.
