Dr. Alan Dardik

Biography

Alan Dardik is an eminent surgeon-scientist at Yale School of Medicine, focusing on molecular biology to deepen understanding of vascular diseases. He has made significant contributions to the basic and translational research relevant to patients with vascular conditions, particularly in the context of healing functions of blood vessels and improving results of vascular interventions. Dardik received extensive training at prestigious institutions, including Yale, University of Pennsylvania, and Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he has also held significant leadership roles. His clinical practice is primarily at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, where he previously served as the Chief of Vascular Surgery. His laboratory, supported by NIH funding, examines innovative approaches to deliver stem cells for diabetic wounds and studies the mechanisms of vein graft adaptation and arteriovenous fistula maturation.
