Biography

Alan Huang is a Professor of Finance at the University of Waterloo and holds the Ernst Young Professorship. His recent research integrates finance with computer science, specifically focusing on textual analysis related to information transmission, pricing in financial markets, and empirical asset pricing. Alan has received numerous federal grants for his work, which has been published in major finance and accounting journals including the Review of Financial Studies and the Journal of Accounting Research. Before his academic career, Alan worked in investment banking and as a proprietary trader in China.
