Biography

Dr. Alan Sutton is an Associate Professor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, specializing in Clinical Practice and Restorative Dentistry. He is the Director of Maxillofacial Prosthetics Services. Dr. Sutton obtained his D.D.S. from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1985 and completed his residency in Prosthodontics in 1997. He has extensive military experience, serving 29 years in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corps, where he held numerous leadership roles, including Director of Resident Education and Chief of the Department of Prosthodontics at Ramstein Air Base. He has also been involved in the development of ADA/ANSI standards as the Chairman of the ADA Standards Committee on Dental Products. His contributions to dental education have been recognized with multiple awards, including the Chancellor’s Teaching Recognition Award and the President’s Excellence in Teaching Award. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and has completed a Fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics. In addition, he has served as a consultant for the military on Prosthodontics and was awarded various honors for his service and teaching excellence.
