Biography

Alan Yuille is a Bloomberg Distinguished Professor at Johns Hopkins University, where he is a member of the Data Science and AI Institute. He directs the research group in Computational Cognition, Vision, and Learning and is affiliated with the Center for Brains, Minds, and Machines. His research interests encompass computational models of vision, mathematical models of cognition, medical image analysis, artificial intelligence, and neural networks. He obtained his BA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge in 1976 and completed his PhD in Theoretical Physics under the supervision of Stephen Hawking in 1981. Since joining the faculty at Johns Hopkins University in 2016, Yuille has made significant contributions to the fields of computer vision and machine learning, including presenting innovative work at prominent conferences such as NeurIPS and the RSNA Annual Meeting.
