Dr. Alasdair Goodwill

Biography

Alasdair Goodwill is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University, where he also serves as the Director of the Criminal and Forensic Psychology Laboratory. With over 20 years of professional experience, he specializes in forensic psychology, including areas such as behavioral investigative analysis, threat assessment, and offender profiling. Goodwill is a registered Clinical Forensic Psychologist with expansive training in both clinical and forensic domains. He completed his PhD in Forensic Psychology at the University of Birmingham, focusing on pragmatic approaches to suspect prioritization in criminal investigations. In addition to his academic role, he has served in various leadership positions, including as Vice-President of the Canadian Association of Threat Assessment Professionals. His extensive research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and he regularly presents at international conferences on topics related to threat assessment and forensic clinical psychology. Goodwill is also involved in consulting for law enforcement agencies and providing expert reports for court cases.
