Alasdair Peterson joined the Edinburgh Law School in January 2022 as a Lecturer in Private Law. He previously studied for his LLB in 2012, completed his PhD in 2017, and obtained a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice in the same year. Before his appointment at Edinburgh, Alasdair was a Lecturer in Private Law at the University of Glasgow from 2020 to 2022. He is a member of the Ius Commune Research School and a Fellow of the European Law Institute. During his PhD studies, Alasdair spent a year in Hamburg as part of Professor Reinhard Zimmermann's group at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, and he has delivered Continuing Professional Development sessions on academic opinions to law firms across Scotland.
