Biography

Alasdair Young holds the Neal Family Chair and serves as a Professor at the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. He is also the Interim Associate Dean for Faculty Development at the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, where he directs the Center for International Strategy and Policy. Young has co-directed the Center for European and Transatlantic Studies from 2011 to 2025 and held the prestigious Jean Monnet Chair from 2012 to 2015. His research interests encompass international political economy, with a particular emphasis on trade regulatory policies and the European Union's transatlantic relationships. He has published extensively, including five books and more than 40 book chapters, along with numerous articles in prominent journals. Before joining Georgia Tech, he had a decade-long tenure at the University of Glasgow and held research positions at the European University Institute in Florence and the University of Sussex. His teaching focuses on the politics of the European Union and transatlantic relations, contributing to the academic development of the next generation of international affairs professionals.
