Biography

Albert Pak is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan Law School where he teaches students to provide transactions-related legal services to community-based organizations and small businesses. With a strong background in law and a focus on community enterprise, Pak utilizes his experience as an attorney, nonprofit executive, and entrepreneur to enhance the educational experience in legal practice. He received the Skadden Fellowship to support Detroit-based nonprofits and small businesses, and has counseled nonprofit tax-exempt organizations at Bodman PLC, where he held leadership roles in pro bono and diversity equity and inclusion committees. In recognition of his contributions to nonprofit law, he was awarded the American Bar Association’s Outstanding Nonprofit Lawyer of the Year (Young Lawyer) in 2023. Pak also played a crucial role in launching a nonprofit aimed at providing post-secondary pathway assistance for high school students from underserved areas in Philadelphia. Currently, he serves as the president of the Michigan Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
