Biography

Albert P.M. Wagelmans is a Professor of Management Science at Erasmus University Rotterdam. His research interests include development analysis, optimization methods, production, public transport, and healthcare planning. He has published in prominent journals such as IIE Transactions, Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Mathematical Programming, Operations Research, and Transportation Science. Wagelmans has served on editorial boards for Computers & Operations Research and Naval Research Logistics. He is a founding member of the Erasmus Center for Optimization in Public Transport and the Erasmus Center for Healthcare Logistics. His collaborative projects involve organizations such as NS Dutch Railways, Schiphol Group, and the Dutch Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO). Additionally, his scientific work has been co-sponsored by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). From 2006 to 2014, he was the director of the Econometric Institute of the Erasmus School of Economics and served as vice-president of EURO, the Association of European Operational Research Societies, from 2016 to 2020. Currently, he is the president of the Dutch Society for Operational Research.
