Dr. Alberto Yebenes

Biography

Alberto V. Yebenes graduated from the Architect Technical School of Madrid in 2004, specializing in tectonic structures. He completed a Post Graduate Degree in environmental urban design ecology in 2006. Yebenes has worked on relevant historical conservation projects in Spain, including the Royal Mint in Segovia and the XV Century mill converted into a museum and cultural center, as well as the Beata Hospitals in Madrid. He has been involved in the academic field in both Spain and England, working as a tutor at the Faculty of Alcala de Henares and joining the mentoring scheme between the RIBA and Manchester School of Architecture in 2015. From 2017 to 2023, he held the position of tutor/Associate Lecturer in the CIA unit at Manchester School of Architecture. With a professional practice in the UK since 2014, he joined Hodder Partners where he was responsible for relevant projects such as the RHS Garden in Worsley and Duncan House in London. As a Project Director at TP Bennett in 2018, he designed and delivered new adaptive reuse schemes in key conservation areas in Northwest England, including Windmill Green in Manchester and City Square in Leeds. His work has been published in Architects Journal in 2020. Committed to community and sustainability, Yebenes qualified as a mental health aider and volunteers for South Manchester initiatives, including 'Chorlton Good Neighbours' and 'Stories of Lives'.
