Biography

Aleaha M. Peoples is an Advanced Senior Lecturer and Simulation Education Specialist at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. With over twelve years of nursing experience, she has worked in critical care at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Ms. Peoples began her focus on simulation education in 2013, collaborating with course and program directors to enhance student learning through the use of medical simulations. She is the Co-Course Director for 'Nursing Care of the Young and Middle-Aged Adult' and has contributed to developing numerous simulation scenarios to integrate into nursing education. Her research includes creating instructional videos for simulation protocols specific to Penn Nursing, facilitating better student performance. Ms. Peoples is actively involved in mentoring clinical instructors and is a member of both graduate and undergraduate simulation task forces at Penn Nursing. She has received several awards for her teaching excellence, including the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence and the Unsung Hero Award from Biobehavioral Health Sciences.
