Dr. Alec Uy

Biography

Alec Uy, MD, is an Assistant Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine. He earned his MD from Wayne State University School of Medicine, and has completed an MS at Wayne State University and a BS at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. His career has included working at Lockheed Martin Johnson Space Center on NASA projects, and he has strong experience as a board-certified Family Medicine physician. With a focus on family medicine, he provides comprehensive care across various specialties including pediatrics, women's health, orthopedics, dermatology, geriatrics, and preventive care. Alec also values a team approach to healthcare, emphasizing the importance of doctor-patient partnerships and lifestyle modifications for preventing chronic diseases. He serves as a Team Physician for the San Jose Sharks® and is actively involved in teaching medical students at Boston University, where he also holds the role of clerkship site director. His dedication to both patient care and education is evident in his eagerness to empower students and patients alike with knowledge and health management.
