Dr. Alefiyah Malbari

Biography

Alefiyah Malbari, M.D., is the inaugural head of the Division of Ambulatory Pediatrics at Dell Medical School, where she serves as an associate professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Medical Education. Malbari oversees the development and growth of a new division within the Department of Pediatrics, focusing on expanding outpatient general pediatric services and creating a medical home for families in the community. With a strong background in clinical practice-building and medical education, she has spent years mentoring medical students and developing pediatric residency education curricula at the graduate medical level. Previously, Malbari served as a medical director and course director at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. Her commitment to medical education includes being inducted as a fellow educator into the Institute of Medical Education at the same institution in 2020. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Malbari is active in scholarly research and medical education committees. Acknowledged for her exemplary interpersonal skills, she was named a Top Pediatrician in New York Magazine in 2020 and received the Cullman Family Award for Excellence in Physician Communication in 2016 and 2018. Originally from New York, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at New York University and her medical degree at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, completing her pediatric residency with a chief resident role at the Icahn School of Medicine.
