Dr. Alejandro De La Fuente

Biography

Alejandro de la Fuente is the Robert Woods Bliss Professor of Latin American History and Economics at Harvard University. He is also a Faculty Associate at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and serves as the Director of the Afro-Latin American Research Institute at the Hutchins Center. His scholarly work primarily focuses on comparative slavery, race relations in the Americas, and the evolution of slave regimes from a comparative perspective. de la Fuente examines the intersections of race, nation, and citizenship in Latin America, contributing significantly to the understanding of these complex social dynamics.
