Dr. Alejandro Hernandez

Biography

Alejandro Kuratomi Hernandez is an Associate Senior Lecturer at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences at Stockholm University. He obtained his PhD from DSV and holds a Masters in Mechatronics from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. His main research interests include Applied Machine Learning, Machine Learning Interpretability, and Algorithmic Fairness. Over the past four years, he has collaborated with industry to develop projects that apply Artificial Intelligence to add value in various industrial sectors. He has been involved in multiple teaching roles, serving as a Teaching Assistant in courses related to Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence at Stockholm University, where he has also supervised Master’s thesis projects focusing on diverse topics within machine learning and data science. His work emphasizes not just the technical aspects but also the ethical and interpretative considerations inherent in AI technologies. Additionally, he is active in sharing his research and insights through a dedicated blog.
