Aleksandar Ivetic graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from Imperial College London in 1993 and became an Associate of the Royal College of Science. Ivetic has been with Imperial College London's National Heart and Lung Institute since July 2005, supported by a Wellcome Trust Research Career Development Award, allowing him to establish his own research group concentrating on leukocyte trafficking. His work investigates the molecular mechanisms that regulate leukocyte recruitment in models of myocardial infarction and sterile injury, alongside an interest in the fundamental biology of endothelial cell permeability.
