Dr. Aleksandar Pekeč

Biography

Saša Pekeč is the Peterjohn-Richards Distinguished Professor in the Business Administration Department at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, specializing in Decision Sciences. His research focuses on decision-making in complex competitive environments, with particular interests in market design, optimization methods including combinatorial network optimization and integer programming, auction theory, and mechanism design. Professor Pekeč actively contributes to the academic community by serving on the editorial boards of various scientific journals and is a prominent member of the INFORMS Section on Auctions and Market Design. He has published numerous articles in reputable journals such as Management Science and Operations Research, located at the intersection of economics, mathematics, and psychology. Additionally, he teaches courses related to analytics and technology in Fuqua's executive daytime MBA programs, nurturing the next generation of leaders. His extensive consulting experience encompasses finance, pharmaceuticals, retail, and technology industries. Furthermore, Pekeč has served on the Supervisory Board of Atlantic Grupa, a leading FMCG company in Southeast Europe, and was a member of the Council of Economic Advisors under the President of Croatia from 2010 to 2015.
