Biography

Aleksandra Galetin is a Professor of Translational Pharmacokinetics at the University of Manchester, where she also serves as the Deputy Director of the Centre for Applied Pharmacokinetic Research. She began her academic career at the University of Manchester in 2004 as a Pfizer Lecturer and has previously held positions as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the same department. Her research work focuses on mechanistic in vitro characterization of hepatic and renal transporters, employing quantitative translation data through physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models. Galetin has published over 135 research papers and is noted for her high citation index. She has received numerous awards including the ISSX European New Investigator Award and the AAPS Meritorious Manuscript Award. Galetin has been actively involved with the ISSX Council and served various leadership roles within the International Transporter Consortium, making substantial contributions to the understanding of drug transport mechanisms and their implications in drug development. Beyond her research contributions, Galetin is dedicated to teaching and mentoring, having supervised numerous PhD students and postdoctoral research associates in pharmacokinetics and drug disposition.
