Aleksandra Foltynowicz is a Professor specializing in optical frequency comb spectroscopy. Her research qualifications include significant experience and contributions to experimental physics, particularly in developing and applying laser-based spectroscopic techniques. She completed her PhD at Umeå University in 2009, focusing on the development and characterization of an ultrasensitive spectroscopic technique that uses a compact fiber laser. After earning her PhD, she worked for two years as a postdoctoral researcher at JILA, University of Colorado in Boulder, CO, where she collaborated with Jun Ye in the optical frequency comb spectroscopy group. In 2012, she returned to Umeå University to lead her group, focusing on the advancement of detection schemes in comb spectroscopy to enhance sensitivity and resolution in spectral coverage. Her work includes precision measurements and analysis of molecular spectra as well as multispecies detection. She has been actively involved in several research projects, including a recent one on Double-Resonance Spectroscopy of Small Molecules Using Optical Frequency Comb. She was also elected as an Optica Fellow in November 2023, recognizing her contributions to the field of physics.
