Biography

Aleksandra joined the Department of European and International Studies at King's College London in September 2023. She was previously a Postdoctoral Researcher on the ERC-funded Platform Labor project at the University of Amsterdam, where she conducted research on the political economy of platformization. Her research focuses on the changing features of contemporary global capitalism, particularly looking at the continuities and changes in neoliberal accumulation, authoritarian political practices, and crisis-driven state restructuring. She has researched authoritarian politics in Serbia and the Balkans, platform capitalism in the European Union, and the comparative emergence of neoliberal projects in the United States, South Africa, and Sweden. Methodologically, she employs spatial analysis to understand global political economy, with a special interest in urban restructuring processes. Aleksandra has published her research in journals such as the Review of International Political Economy, Globalizations, and Environment and Planning A, and she has a forthcoming book with Routledge.
