Biography

Aleksandra (Seša) Slavković is a Professor of Statistics and the Associate Dean for Graduate Education at the Eberly College of Science at Penn State University. She received her Ph.D. in Statistics in 2004 and holds a Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University, obtained in 1999, as well as an M.S. in Statistics in 2001. Her undergraduate degree is a B.A. in Psychology from Duquesne University, earned in 1996. In her role as Associate Dean, Slavković works on enhancing graduate programs within the college and collaborates closely with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion to foster a positive climate for all members of the college. She is involved in supporting graduate student mentoring and oversees the Science Achievement Graduate Fellows Program, which aims to recruit and promote outstanding students pursuing doctoral degrees across the college's seven departments, particularly those interested in advancing women's roles in the sciences. Throughout her career, she has received various honors, including being named a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics in 2021 and a Fellow of the American Statistical Association in 2018.
