Aleksey Sadekov graduated from the Geology Department of Moscow State University and obtained his PhD in Earth Sciences from the Australian National University. He has served as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Edinburgh (2008-2011) and the University of Cambridge (2011-2017) before joining the University of Western Australia. He participates in various projects, including those on Early Earth Evolution and dating rock engravings made by the indigenous population of Western Australia.
