Alessandro Grelli is an Associate Professor at Utrecht University specializing in Gravitational Subatomic Physics. He is a member of the ALICE Collaboration, focusing on the study of ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN). His research primarily investigates heavy-quarks, examining in-medium energy loss and hadronization processes. Grelli has held significant roles within the ALICE collaboration, including serving as a coordinator for the D2H group from 2014 to 2017 and as a convener for the heavy-flavor physics working group from 2017 to 2019. Currently, he is leading a Dutch project to upgrade the ALICE tracker and coordinating efforts for a new detector proposal for the LHC run V in 2030. In addition to his research, he is actively involved in teaching and outreach programs, covering both bachelor's and master's courses at the university, and coordinating the Hisparc project to engage high school students in advanced scientific projects.
