Dr. Alessandro Marone

Biography

Alessandro Marone is a Research Assistant Professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, specializing in biomedical imaging. His work focuses on modeling physiological systems and developing advanced machine learning neural network techniques for medical image analysis. In recent years, he has applied these techniques to enhance understanding of vascular effects related to various diseases including diabetic foot syndrome, breast cancer, and lupus arthritis. His research demonstrates that combining physiological models with medical imaging data and advanced image analysis techniques significantly increases diagnostic accuracy. Marone holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electronic Engineering and earned a Ph.D. in Information Technology from the Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy. He also obtained a Biotechnology Certificate from Columbia University, New York, and has worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Associate Research Scientist in the Biomedical Engineering Department, contributing to the Clinical Biophotonics Laboratory at NYU.
