Biography

Alessandro D. Santin, MD, graduated with honors from the University of Brescia, Italy. He completed his residency at the University of Brescia School of Medicine and subsequently trained in Gynecology at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Santin is a professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at Yale University, where he has served since 2008. His clinical expertise focuses on gynecologic oncology, particularly intraperitoneal chemotherapy and tumor genetics. Dr. Santin has published over 300 peer-reviewed articles and has provided significant contributions to the fields of ovarian, endometrial, and cervical cancers. He is involved in numerous clinical trials, testing innovative immunotherapies and novel agents for resistant gynecologic malignancies. His research has been funded by various federal agencies, and he is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists. Dr. Santin is dedicated to educating the next generation of physician-scientists, having mentored over 50 fellows who pursue careers in oncological research.
