Biography

Alessio M. Pacces is a Professor of Law and Finance at the University of Amsterdam, where he has made significant contributions to the fields of corporate governance, financial stability, and law and economics. He graduated with honors in economics from LUISS University, Rome, in 1994, and holds an LL.M. in European Master Law and Economics achieved cum laude in 1995. He earned his PhD in Law and Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, also cum laude, in 2008. In 2012, he was appointed as a professor and became the director of the EMLE program in 2014. He is widely recognized as an expert in sustainable corporate governance, control-enhancing mechanisms, and mandatory climate disclosures. In addition to his academic responsibilities, he has held visiting positions at prestigious institutions including Stanford Law School and UC Berkeley. His extensive publication record includes over 50 works, such as books, chapters, and articles in leading journals, and he has been invited to speak at universities around the world. He currently teaches courses on Corporate Governance and Securities Markets Regulation, and has supervised numerous PhD candidates.
