Aletta Kraneveld studied Pharmacy at the University of Amsterdam and Utrecht University. Aletta Kraneveld is an active member of various (inter)national scientific societies and boards, including the Dutch Society of Pharmacology and FEDERA. Since March 1, 2020, she has served as the vice dean for Research in the Faculty of Science at Utrecht University. Her current research interests involve targeting the interaction between innate and adaptive immunity, host-microbe interactions, and chronic inflammatory disorders through pharmaceutical and nutritional interventions. The Kraneveld group focuses on the gut-immune system-brain axis, enhancing understanding of the interactions between intestinal microbiota, the immune system, and chronic conditions affecting the gut, airways, and central nervous system.
