Professor Dr. Alex Adronov

Biography

Alex Adronov is a professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at McMaster University. His research focuses on organic synthesis, particularly the preparation of novel monomers and polymeric structures. His work on conjugated polymers includes applications related to the functionalization of carbon nanotubes, which is significant for developing advanced materials. Additionally, he specializes in dendrimer synthesis, with a specific interest in their therapeutic and diagnostic imaging applications. Adronov's expertise spans various fields, including macromolecular materials chemistry, nanochemistry, supramolecular chemistry, as well as organic chemistry focused on polymers and plastics. He is an associate member of the Biomedical Engineering program and a member of the Biointerfaces Institute, reflecting his multidisciplinary approach to research. He also holds memberships in prominent organizations such as the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC).
